    Hello:

This upcoming weekend I will be replacing the uim and lim gaskets on a 97 gp 3.8liter with 75,000. I am pretty sure only the upper is leaking but I bought the aluminum lower replacement and since it has been such a problem with this engine I want to do it once while everything opened up. I hope I have everything I needed but I heard about some coolant elbows. They may break when I am disassembling everything I heard but I cant quite seem to find out what is meant. Anyone out there know about the coolant elbows?

    Thanks

The coolant elbows WILL break, go ahead and get you a set of them so you can replace them.

Not necessarily, but it is a good idea to go ahead and get a extra set before hand.

If it's on a 1997 and they are original....they will break. Even if the car only has 75,000 miles on it.

We've taken many high mileage motors apart before and not broken them.
