i was wondering if it was better to change the plugs when the engine was warm due to the heads being alunimum. my dad was concerned about it because the plugs are steel and the heads are not . any imput would be appreated and helpful. thank you.

Well if the heads are stock they are cast iron. the only aluminum ones are aftermarket.

lol. Changed plugs on a hot engine the first time I tried it. Not recommended. But pain makes memories.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

I've heard of not changing plugs on a hot motor with aluminum heads so you don't strip the threads but our cars have cast heads from the factory.
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.
04 Comp G zzp stb's, UMI ta's, Speedbuilt sways, bully flo heads, XP, zzp headers, fsic, thrasher shift kit, 60#, 2.6" corsa 2.5", Inferno hood

Waited for it to cool down this timedid the oil when it was alittle hot and burned my finger. My own dumb fault i knew the heads were cast just didnt think before i posted. I went with al 606 xp and got a 12$ rebate from oriley to. Borg warner wires and a hour later lets just say it runs way better. Painted the calipers red got some 5000k head lights and fogs. Put some red bulbs in the daytime running lights and on the interior. Love this car man love itp

    are the xp's platinum?

If so, you dont want those, in time they will start to cause problems. The waste spark system on our cars eats them away.

But if they are iridiums you are fine.
