I guess what I'm trying to get at here is I haven't heard of one (as you put it) assploding. Shifting issues yes, but I haven't heard of guys having trannies explode. Through my dads place of employment I've seen transmissions physically broken into more pieces than one wants their tranny to be in. Granted, those are on diesel trucks that crank out some pretty high performance numbers, but when I think of "assploding" that's what comes to mind.
Perhaps there have been guys with assploded trannies. If so it appears I do need to catch up on my Mustangs more.
