Hey guys recently my tachometer has randomly been dieing out while driving yet when it does stop working, car continues to run fine. It has done it probably about 3 or 4 times the past week or 2. Should I be worried? I read it is most likely the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Should I replace it? And I have a 97 GT with a 2000GT engine, are they the same parts or do I need to look for one specific to one of those years? Thanks a bunch guys.

-Also forgot to mention, my service engine light has not came on either..

Sounds like the CPS. And according to Oreilly's website, the CPS for a 97 GT and a 00 GT are the same part #. 2-9655. $29.99.

For sure CKP sensor. Its will get worse and start stalling out while driving down the road. And then its a biotch to get it started again. My SES light didnt come on till it started getting really bad.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.
