The factory manifold is poorly casted...the Powerlog replaces it with a tubular style manifold...just buy headers guy.

So headers are the same thing as front manifold?

Headers replace both manifolds, crossover and downpipe...

Ok so when i buy the headers they will come as a set right? Will it be bolt on or whats the best way? And is there anything that comes with u-bend delete? plus i was thinking of de-catting and taking out the silencer thingy in the exhaust. So if i do the headers and have all custom bent pipes from the headers back whats a good pipe size and a good set of non-chambered mufflers?

Also i may s/c at one point but not enough money so hopefully i wont need new exhaust and stuff if i do the stuff now prolly s/c later and just do exhaust for now if possible?

Some info about my mods- Cone filter on TB and just chopped of old mufflers and put on 2 dyno max

the front manifold isnt poorly cast, it's a stock manifold. a powerlog is a good replacement (WHICH ONLY ZZP MAKES). buy headers, youll be better off.

Do you have a shop that is going to help you install headers? You can't just chop your manifolds off and throw headers on...

This is what i want: new headers and upgraded exhaust from headers back. I am going to have a shop do the pipe from the headers back with stainless but the only question is what size pipe and what parts (keep in mind id like to s/c with out redoing the whole exhaust at a later date if possible). Also id like to de-cat it and then have her tuned after all this work

I'm gettin' good at these picture things recently. Also...if you don't research then you'll put 12 motors in your car...because I bet you're wanting to put a smaller pulley on with no flow mods as well.

No all i want is the upgraded exhaust for now! can you read? I just want to know what parts and what size pipe? I figured asking here was better than posting a whole new thread a new exhaust wont **** up my car if all i have is a cone air filter on my TB but soon to be ported TB from zzp They don't sell the MAF with them anymore though

Actully, a new exhaust could cause issues, but you must already know that right?

You appear to know all about exhaust velocity and its affects on how a motor operates, so I won't take my time to explain it to you.

So to the original POST...WHY DO YOU NEED A BIGGER THROTTLE BODY?

YOU DON'T. YOU AREN'T NEEDING ONE AT YOUR STOCK MOD LEVEL. Adding a catback is also pointless since you need over 300 WHEEL Horsepower to even get close to maxing out a stock catback. You want a mod list?

    180* T-Stat
    Autolite 606 Spark Plugs
    PRJ Performance 10.4mm Plug Wires
Speed Daddy Headers OR a 3" Downpipe...since your N/A it doesn't matter you don't make enough power to care really...
    ZZPerformance HV3 Upper Insert
    Custom Tuned PCM

    There.

Those should make your N/A car faster than it is. And there is NO PORTED TB ON THE LIST BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED ONE. So since you can't read, I'll post up my 1st post in this thread for you to read that you must have missed...

Larger TB would be needed for a Cam/Heads/Header/HV3 setup...At the point of a cam/headers alone I'd have the stocker ported...I don't think ANY N/A guy would be needing a Northstar...a ported L67 would suffice PLENTY of air for any non-boosted car. But, IMO....unless you have a cam or rockers...and headers...or even a HV3 and or headwork...then your in no need of a larger TB. If you don't have any mods...maybe I suggest Speed Daddy headers, with some form of an air intake (whichever you may prefer but Fenderwell's seem to work better on N/A apps), an HV3 Upper Insert, with ZZP ER Rocker Arms or one of their cams...either a GT1 or GT2...

Nope, He's reccomending parts that dont fit.

For the plugs, rock the motor forward.

I'm also recommending to read this post as well...and in THAT^^ guys signature.

Because your spark plug choice is no where near ideal for these cars...
