    Hi

My "new" car, a 2000 GP GT 3.8L N/A 163K throws a P0102 code (maf low input) and having bad mileage (seems less than 20mpg mix town/hwy but note that i don't have 4th gear).
After i cleaned mine a couple of times with a proper cleaner i replaced it with a used one.
I cleared the code but it came back after few miles.

So the question is how to test MAF sensor to see if i have to look somewhere else to resolve the code problem (other than the Service soon light which i just don't like to see it on, i think i have kind of a fluctuation of idle and bad (i think) gas mileage.
If MAF test good where i have to look?
I red here that could be everything and anything, from vacuum lines leak to first O2 sensor but before i replace the whole engine (lol) i like to have your experiences on that.
    Bad O2 sensor doesn't mean a O2 sensor code?
Also i have to mention that i lost (never had i bought it like that) 4th gear
I know this contribute on bad mileage but how much?

    Thanks
    Thanos

low input code can mean that any number of sensors could be grounding out. They all work off the same supply voltage. So you will need to check them all. You can test it with a volt meter. I don't have a pin layout handy so i don't know whats what.

    Thanks Rocket
I was waiting for a couple of days but no replies.
So i will try guessing now.
I try to find any possible leaks on vacuum system. I can't locate those T rubber connectors everybody blame for. Where are they?
On brake booster the vac hose is very loose on the yellowish connector and the connector itself seems that moves around (is not fix on the booster) kind of an elastic move.
Is that normal or is internally broken or loose?
My problem (again) is a P0102 code and a very bad gas mileage (under 17mpg) i can say. i replaced MAF with a used one with same problems & code.
Engine does not stall or seems to hesitate on acceleration.

    Thanks again in advance
