    If I unplug the CPS, would the car still run with the cam position sensor for timing, I wanna elimnate my CPS as a cause, but if the engine wont start without it, I guess I just need to replace it

    I would think if the cps was bad it would throw a code.

    If the signal is scewed or a little off, the computer will not throw a code

    no if the cps goes bad your car will not run or start up.......I have never heard of one STARTING to go bad...I always thought they are either good or bad...but i dunno

    Then I would think there would be a way to check it out then. But I suppose you would have to talk nice to a GM tech who can get you the info on how to check a cps.

    yeah i'm sure there are some kind of OHMS rang it is suppose to be operating in

    Only way to completely check is is with an ociliscope, but I don't have one or access to one..... Being that it is inductive pick-up, it can fade over time
