my na gt just turned 200,000 miles , and im toying with the idea of getting a junkyard 3.8 supercharged and gonna do a rebuild on it and wondering what its gonna take to put it in , is it pcm and a little wiring (for whitch im not afraid at all to do ) . im probably go a little nuts with this id like to pull 8's in the eighth so im thinking doing the hd tranny wouldent be a bad idea so any info would be much appreciated .

p.s. if i have the motor ready to go can it be done in a weekend?

too bad you have the crappy transmission to work with. you should switch the electronic transmission in at the same time or youre going to have problems tuning the shifts and what not.

otherwise if youve got everything ready to go it wouldnt be hard to swap everything over in a weekend.

Well considering we told him to swap transmissions too...it shouldn't be a issue.

well i had the transmission swapped about 2 years ago , blew out on my way to bristol in abingdon va ... funny story about that too ... but ill save that for another time ... but its the same 4t60e , think i got that right , but its shifting hard from first to second , and the torque converter takes forever to lock up , now what hd transmission can i put in without changing ecu and harness ..... kinda on a budget here ive got a spare ecu and a friend of mine can do the flash for me at the gm dealership , ive got about 1000 bucks to do this and the motor with 82,000 miles complete for 560 so i cant express on a budget enough ... thanks for all the help so far fellas ... and any meetings near va anytime soon , love to see some of the cars at the strip or roadcourse
