I just got done replacing my upper and lower intake gasketts and threw in a new thermostat and injector o-rings, also changed the oil and flushed radiator. Now, the car runs great and started right up afterwards, but, The enginge temp only gets up to around 180 When driving it. And the coolant, radiator, and radiator hoses seem like they are way to hot, to me anyway. I can barely touch the upper rad. hose, and i can feel the heat coming off the radiator, but the motor isn't getting very hot? What gives? I bled the air out with that bleed screw on the thermostat housing 2 or 3 times and now just coolant comes out. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong, could the thermostat be junk? I'm sure i'm just missing somthing here.

Well i'm not sure where the temp is supposed to be at, I just talked to a friend and he said its fine and just to keep bleeding the air out a few more times. So maybe i'm just panicing, I tend to do that when i work on stuff. i'm so scared to wreck somthing.

To me that sounds normal. Mine did the same thing when I changed out my gaskets. The stock t-stat should hover right around where your temp gauge is reading.

That's normal. Even 180* is too hot for humans to touch and be comfortable.

You should still get a cooler T-Stat if you want your car to last longer...IMO a 180* is the way to go...modding or not.
