So I've letting the car run for some time now and it's still smoking around the exhaust manifold area. I cleaned it off with degreaser and a towel but to no success. Also the radiator hoses still feels empty after filling up the radiator. Weird. But the car drives like it never happened 😃

whats the smoke smell like? the valve cover could be leaking, and that can lead to a fire if left unchecked.

take a clean rag and wipe under the lip of the cover if it comes up wet with oil, you need to change the v/c gasket.

I'd say give it more time or make sure coolant isn't running on to the manifolds somehow.

Sometimes I swear it'll take a half hour of running to burn coolant/oils/degreaser off the exhaust.

Without the rad cap on, it won't build a lot of pressure if that's when you are feeling the hoses.

Valve cover gaskets has been changed but the valve cover itself looks funny..Like warped maybe. I'll take a pic. The radiator cap is on and it was running for about 20 minutes and I can literally squeeze the life out of it.

im gonna lean towards the engine is covered in oil and grease and needs to be cleaned really really bad. if its not leaking now it was pretty bad.

2 cans of engine de greaser and a garden hose. or hit the self coin op car wash and de grease it there, at least they got hi pressure hot water and its not your driveway your leaving a mess in lol

the coolant, open the cap engine cold top it off, then run it at idle till the fans come on, if the coolant drops, top it off again, that would be the t stat opening up.

then open the bleeder screw on the t stat housing and open it till just coolant comes out, it might bubble air for a bit. top off the rad if need be, cap it, drive it, next morning check it, top off if needed. id check it the next few mornings to make sure it full.

fill your over flow if its not to the line as well.

It's been about two weeks so far and I'm still topping off coolant and after filling the radiator the oil dipstick is overfilled. I think I'm on trouble. No leaks anywhere..

pop the tb off, see if its wet inside the upper intake, sounds like your ingesting coolant and thats why the oil is over filled now. id not drive it like that if its milk shake oil now.

the stove pipe area cracks or gets a hole burned through it, but if you replaced it, all should be good with that, coolant ports cold be leaking. have to look inside to tell.

Another update: For the love of God it seems my girl is bad luck when it comes to driving cars. I had this car on the road for the past 3 week's with no issues. I let her borrow my car because she doesn't like driving the Taurus in the snow..And what happens?? Car doesn't crank...After I drive to her home at 10am...Dug her out..And drove the car to a new spot so she wouldn't get stuck. When I turn the ignition it's making a whirling sound..Kinda like Majin Boo..If you ever watched DBZ. Battery is fine..I'm ruling out fuel pump because the car would have at least tried to turn over. Suggestions??
