I have an L36/T5 combo out of a 96 Camaro that I am swapping into a Porsche 944. The stock Camaro headers are center dumps. The center dump causes me trouble clearing things inside my engine bay. It would be better if the dumps were to the rear. Because I am going for California legal smog stuff - I cannot use aftermarket headers. I need FACTORY LOOKING headers with rear dumps that will bolt onto the L36 heads. I repeat - FACTORY LOOKING.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a GM model car or truck that has rear dump headers that will bolt to an L36 head?

    Thanks for your help!

Seeing how the 3800 will still be 3800 specific, you won't find anything from another GM car/truck with the same head design and bolt pattern.

I agree with SGT, look into holden exhaust manifolds.

Fiero guys bolt on 3.8l mustang headers with a bit of work to the bolt holes. Might be an option.

The 2000 and up Camaro factory exhaust manifolds are tubular compared to the 96 manifolds you have and supposed to flow better, might be worth a look at if they can be sourced reasonable. Here is an eBay link with some pics.
