So after doing some thinking on my 01 gt doing a knock I came to realize some things and wanted yalls opinion on it.
    1. Car drove flawlessly UNTIL I changed the oil the weekend after purchasing.
    2. Not sure what oil was in it before, but it was clean (no flakes or anything).
    3. When I went to advanced to get oil and filter, they suggested Pennzoil, and not ever hearing otherwise, that's what I bought.
    4. Talking to my grandparents who often buy cars, fix and flip, they informed me to NEVER use it because they always had bad luck, as in causing knocks.

This only happens when hitting the pedal, or throttle cable. I can't determine where the sound is originating from, BUT if this was to be the case, do you think changing oil would cure this issue?

I use whatever the hell is on sale in my supercharged 07. I think I have Penzoil in there right now and have never had a problem. As Scotty said, oil is oil.

I'm going to bet if you are hearing a knock its because the PO used a heavier oil in it to keep the knocking away and when you changed it you put the recommended weight oil in and now you are hearing the beginning of a spun bearing. Basically, you got hosed.

Well I only paid $1200 for the car, I have a parts '00 GT I paid only $300 for (bad trans, but DD has rebuilt trans). I did notice in R, and N revving makes no noise, only in D, 2, 3. 1 doesn't make any noise either.
