Ok man thanks. I have a 98 s10 2.2 5 speed. Every now and then when I would start the truck the battery would drag a little when starting. On the times it would drag the security light would stay on but all I had to do was turn it off and start it again and it would go away. It didn't happen a lot. Now 2 weeks ago I got in it and turned the switch and all the lights shine bright and the radio comes on but the truck wouldn't turn over not even a click from the starter. I reached under the dash and turned the cluch relay about a half turn and it started just fine. I drove it a whole week and it did it again but this time it wouldn't start no matter what I did to the relay so I cut the wires on the plug and bypassed the relay. It run and started good except the starter dragging a little some times for 5 days and now it's doing it again. Bright lights radio comes on but will not turn over and start. The security light is not on so I don't think that's it. I pulled the battery out and put it in my blazer to check it and it fires up first turn every time so it's not the battery either. I tried to tap the starter a few times with a hammer to see if might have been stuck but that didn't do anything. Do you guys think that the cluch relay might have messed up the starter with all the dragging or what else can cause this?
