    what do you mean dragging alt, like the pulley is not smooth turning? time for a new alt then.

    the starter could just be old, and the Bendix gear or shaft maybe worn out. maybe you can grease it some to help it slide in and out better.

    the clutch safety switch maybe bad? should be a button that gets pushed clutch in that lets the power go to the starter from the key.

    id find that, and play with it some. reinstalling what ever relay you bypassed. unless your dealt with that part as a whole. i dont know exactly what your dealing with under the dash.
