Yeah ZZP sent it to me stripped. I put it on and it leaked. Emailed them and they said "Either I pay to return ship it with a 20% restocking fee and then just buy another from them or I could just live with it." That was the option ZZP gave me.

now drill the end of the plug for a neo magnet or get a magnet equipped plug.
inspections are quite easy when you can leave the dipstick in, put a shop vac on the case vent, remove the plug and inspect the shavings/accumulation on the magnet and reinstall without loosing a drop of atf.
It's hard to see due to the similarity in size, but there is a 3/8' x 1/16" neo disk magnet on the tip of the plug. I'll probably dab a bit of RTV on there just to secure it.Quote:

i expected that helicoil to give you a problem with leakage, that will leak overtime as the rubber gasket degrades unfortunately. The only real way to fix that permanently is to use a proper threaded insert, you can pick them up on mcmastercarr. Been down this road before with oil pans.
