Only way I've ever seen it is if the valve were an incorrect length. Since you have it right.. I'm also at a loss.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

So I put everything back together and tried it again.
Same problem. But I noticed that when I put it in between park and reverse it goes forward....not reverse.
Park is park. Reverse does nothing. Neutral through 1 accelerate.. Inbetween park and reverse it accelerates

I'm probably not going to be able to offer anything real helpful, but I'll throw some stuff out there. Just thinking out loud...

Did you check (Ohm) the internal harness, MPS, and solenoids?

    Does it throw any codes?

Would you be against pulling the pan and seeing if the manual and fwd bands have the correct play as they should?

Only other thing that I found once that led me to suggest the reverse band was when Max had his band come off the anchor and in various gears it acted funny and as if it had a trans brake. I'd think that if the reverse is good and it's only going forward that it might lead us to either the fwd or manual bands. Which both should be able to be checked with just a pan drop.

I can pull the pan. I know the manual band is in place. Cause that's how far in I went this last time. I did get a code for throttle pedal position or something like that. I dent remember

Would it make a difference if I have the manual valve link upside down
I forgot to mention. When I put it inbetween park and reverse, when it made that terrible noise... It moved forward. Not reverse
