It can be the PCS, among other things. Do you have any means to pull codes? With transmission codes you have to pull codes when the problem happens (or at least don't shut the car off before reading codes).

I don't have a scanner that can read those and the shops around here charge a pretty penny ($100) to do this. What I find odd is that some days this transmission shifts strong and then other days it doesn't with no rhyme or reason.
