I am going to change the fluid filter again after I get her back together but how the heck am I going to get all that metal out of my tranny? I will be afraid to drive it after I put a diff in it due to more metal damaging my new stuff. Is there any way to get it all out?? Will the filter catch all of it? The way I understand the diff is the last place the fluid goes before it returns to the pan.

Get a couple high powered magnets and glue em to the pan.

That should help a ton in picking up any other metal.

YEAH!! Got that covered!! I have some Magnets at work that beat any thing I have ever saw. They are about 1.5 inch thick and big around as a half dollar. I will get me 2 of them in the morning. Thanks for that idea.

That might be too thick, I was kinda thinking like the thickness of 2 quarters or something. To make sure it clears everything in the trans when bolted back up.

I can stick these on the Bottom of the pan, They are SUPER STRONG! I held one in my hand put the other on the back side you can move it any where you want. I did that the first time I saw them they snapped around and pinched a blood blister on my hand. No BS they are by far the strongest I have ever saw for the size of them. I will try inside pan first if it don't clear I will stick two on the bottom of the pan.

Quick...you had him ready to pull it. Isn't it funny after you have found it, you know that problem without a doubt. LOL

On the metal in the trans.. diff is the last item in the fluid path before it falls back to the pan and gets filtered. I'd run it a few miles and then do another pan drop and filter swap. On the magnets.. I run with magnets on the pan all the time in addition to the stock one. A rebuilder called me once and said.. "uh do you put something on your pan, cause there's stuff grouped in small circles in the pan and that's the only thing that should cause it" He was right.
