That's the roll pin that goes in the diff. It shears off from 1 wheel burnouts. You should replace your diff.

Depends on how many shavings are floating around in there.

I'd recommend not driving it until you replace the Diff to avoid a bigger issue.

you doñ need to replace the diff per say... pull both cv shafts and pull the diff cover. then pull the diff out if the pin just came out go to autozone, look in the help aisle and youll find roll pins.

I think so....but you shouldn't be driving it. If the cross pin turned at all, which is probably the case, you will most likely need a new diff.

Well i got the pin. Im going to be ripping it apart tomarrow morning cus i dont have to work till 5. Is there anything else im gonna need besides the pin and the fresh fluid? Like a gasket? Or is there a write up anywhere on this? Now say i do need as new diff they are all the same correct? Like i can rip one out of any hd trans and it will work 98+? Mines an 04 compg.

Yeah, all HD diff's are the same. No seals or gaskets should be needed.

There should be a few write-ups... But I'm not going to search for them on my phone.
