Tapshift with 4 gears is about as useless as a ratchet wrench that can not ratchet. All of us who use it, pretty much think it is useless and we don't bother. 2nd gear tops in around 75-80mph and you will never see that on a RallyX stage.

The other aspect is the abuse, it will cook and probably break before long.

Then there is the FWD aspect, I don't care what most of the RallyXers say, but RWD and AWD are the better options here to have more fun, sure FWD can do it, but I would pick something along those lines.

I wouldn't spend more than $2000 on a RallyX car either, to start, if you get real serious then I could see a more potent vehicle is useful. So spending the money on this is really just a hobby, so I would keep the budget down...way down.

I don't rallyX...yet but I have friends who do, B14 Nissan Sentra (This I know is FWD), BMW e30/e36, 90's Subies. Anything that is either AWD or RWD with a manual is your best option to have more fun. With that in mind a FWD/Auto/3,600-3,700lbs is going to dampen that.
