ive got an hd trans with 165k on it with no 3rd gear. i was thinking about scrapping it but idk what to do with it, should i try to sell it ?

Its worth maybe 50 bucks because its no good. Would just be used as a core for a rebuild.

If you were closer, I would offer to buy it as a trans for learning about them. That way, if it's over my head, I can just get some scrapper to take it or throw it away.

i got about 30 bucks for the tranny from the scrap yard

Pull the guts out. Seperate the aluminum from steel and it'll have the most value.
