the one concensus is DO NOT FLUSH THE FLUID! Simple drain and fill ONLY.. doing a flush is usually at a shop where they use high pressure to "flush" and get all of the fluid. That will sometimes take whatever is inside the filter and blow it back into the trans, causing damage.

Super simple to do a drain and fill. Drop pan, wait, pull old filter out, put new one in, clean magnet in the bottom of the pan, and put pan back on. Toss in 7-8 quarts of tranny fluid and you're good.

If you can change spark plugs, a shift kit and trans fluid and filter change should be easy enough, no harm done.
