03 Grand Prix GT 3800 N/A. The car is sitting at 94k tranny fluid has never been changed. Do I change the fluid? its sort of a darkish red not burnt. If so what kind ive read I should use Dex 6? or Dex 3? Ive never had problem with not changing the fluid in my vehicles. Ive got an 03 buick century with 196k never had a fluid change still running strong. What do you guys recommend? Any help is much appreciated

Yes it's very much worth doing a pan drop at 94k. Use dex 3. It will be debated and people will say use dex 6, but dex 6 is a thinner synthetic. I have personally e-mailed Dave at TEP and got a professional opinion on the fluid thing. At 97k miles... I'd stick with what it uses.

Not sure on the 196k mile car... I guess it would depend on the health of it and other factors, but I'll let others comment on that one.

I have to agree. I also contacted Dave and he told me to stick with dex 3. I just did a fluid and filter swap and used mobil 1 synthetic dex 3.

I change mine every 18 months this way I never have to bother with a fluid flush (which I used to every do 60,000 miles but it was such a pain)

I never had a problem running dex vi on older transmissions. I have noticed that with Dex vi these transmissions run cooler.
