ok, so how can i detect said misfire if thats the case? would a scanner help out? or it wont throw codes without dummy lights going off?

the check engine light should flash.

You can scan for "current misfires" on any scanner (you have HPT for the truck right?)

well the CEL flashed once a few months ago when i was the highway on ramp trying to merge with traffic, i had to get it up to 80 to get past this damn car that wouldnt move over for me.. once i hit 80 BOOM, the CEL flashed like 5 times.. hasnt done it since.. and its been a few months now.. would the computer still store that incident to where i could read it... and i personally dont have HPT, but my friend does, so i could go to his house if needed be...

Go to buddies house. Put all the cylinders up on the screen with their misfire for current. Go drive and load it up in power. See if any complain.

ok i'll have to do that asap then...

on a side note.. something else i just noticed.. after the 1 to 2 shift.. as its climbing in RPM's again before it shifts again, the car seems to "bog" down a little bit... meaning, i can kinda feel a hesitation until it reaches 3,000 RPM's again, then if feels normal... any more inclination that it could be a misfiring issue?

for some reason, it wont let me edit... i meant to add... that as its climbing in rpm's it just feels hesistant/sluggish/sputteriing if you wanna call it that... until it reaches 3000 rpm's again.. then it feels fine... so is this leaning more towards a misfire somewhere?

that i'll do then... my brother is coming up and has his stuff (scanners, etc... he's an auto body collision tech so he can rip a car apart and put it together lol), but another question, what would a misfire have to do with the trans not shifting? any misfires ive delt with (justa bad coil was the only troubleshooting i had to diagnos and change out), but it never altered my shifting like whats going on in the GP...

Everything. If the motor can not fufill the correct RPM and MPH requirements, it will not attempt a shift.... also it can just not command shifting if it is not going fast enough for the airflow to go in... I never saw an attempted shift in your videos.... It was just the engine stopping.

ahhhh.. ok, that makes sense then... as stated earlier, there is a lack of power throughout certain RPM's.. would a dirty throttle body be an addition to this problem? i havent fully taken it apart to clean it, and my parents never had it done throughout the years, but when i took the car back in November, i sort of half assed cleaned it by just spraying it int he honeycomb (yes the car was off, and i didnt spray any in it with the butterfly open)... but would a dirrty TB help contribute to the issues im having?

LOL... yes, i took apart the induction system, took out the air box, MAF, and all tubing, just exposing the throttle body on the intake...

Opps... ok.. i saw that now... ive never seen a MAF integrated into the TB like that... that was done well over 5 months ago... i guess the possiblities could be a bad MAF as well.. but that throws a CEL.. and im not getting any dummy lights on the dash... so for now, im just waiting to hook up the scanner and report back once i see whats wrong...

    but that throws a CEL
I have never seen it... If the maf is unplugged or REALLY broken somehow it MAY throw a code, otherwise it will just read incorrectly and throw lean/rich or misfire codes. The error checking on maf sensors is fairly useless in the fact that it has a really wide range of tolerance.

Ironically enough, I just had to pull clogged cats off my TBSS. The weird thing about my clogged cats was that the truck would hardly move, at all.
