Right. Being a W body makes it easier. The Bonneville, Park Ave and Riviera have more structure on the back of the casing for a rear trans mount, they utilize holes on the front that are on all cases for a front trans mount. The W body, uses one mount on the cover that can be swapped if needed. Usually all the covers are alike, but if it's not, it's an easy swap.
Then you have the hose connections which is easy to work past.
In the end, all SC'd transmissions were 2.93 when GM built them.
Ok will any of the other transmission be better than the 2000 transmission. I've just heard so much negativity about these transmissions I don't know if the a little different maybe the other years are stronger or doesn't have the weaknesses that the 2000 transmission has if so what year should i look for. Thanx n advance.
In 2003, which you can't use, GM supposedly upgraded many things.
The 4th clutch hub was one of the items. In 97-02 (and early 03's) it is not hardened and therefore wears/strips out and you lose 4th gear.
A few other changes were made in the valve body, but nothing that would change things drastically. Overall it's a valvebody and with miles comes some wear.
Except..you can't change both fittings at the trans. You can only change one. Which means it's easier to swap lines.
