That's some planetary stuff from down in. That plastic piece is the lube dam and the splined shaft you have goes into the 3rd gear sprag.

I have 2-3 transmissions laying around and those parts should be good, or ebay, maybe a trans shop. Likely though, most shops won't stock them because they are standard hard parts that typically don't go bad.

    What when wrong with them?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Those parts were not from my trans. they were just based on info from my research of symptoms the car has. I just authorized a full rebuild happening in a couple of days. Let the fun begin.......

I picked up my car today......waited exactly 1.5 weeks for it to be fully rebuilt and installed. I drove it home about fifteen minutes and noticed right away.......no noise very quiet riding. So it seems justifiable that the previous noise was coming from in the trans. One thing I did notice is first gear shift is sluggish but it might be because everything is new and needs to be broken in. I have to drive it awhile before I say anything to the rebuilder. Other than that it shifts fine and the installed shift kit make the shift firm and crisp.
