    2003 grand prix gt. Had quite a few hard shifts. Scanned it at work and need a second opinion. Getting code P1811: max adapt long shift. Cleared it after day one but obvi it came back. Pressure control solenoid? That is my first guess. But it went from hard shifts day one, to taking a LONG time to shift plus hard shifts by day three.

    Is that normal when a pressure control solenoid fails? Plan tomorrow is to drop the tranny pan to check for an excessive amount of metal filings. If there is ima just run er till she dies! If not i will be pulling that valve body cover off and getting to that solenoid to replace it.


    Is this a good way to go about it? Any chance it is just the solenoid or leaning toward tranny replacement?

    Car has 220,xxx km's on it. Just replaced engine 4 months ago so really hoping for the best on this. Thanks guys.

    Not a bright red. Darkish tinge but doesn't smell like its burning at all. Fluid was a little low but hardly anything. I topped it up.
