Okay, so I got my tranny rebuilt just over a year ago. I checked the fluid today and its over the line by about an inch. hmmmm, so I think I am going to change the filter and fill it back up again with fresh stuff to the correct level. Now, am I checking it properly. With the engine on and in park right? How many liters will I need if I am just changing the filter and gasket?

Best way to check it is to drive with it and make sure its up to temp, then stop the car, and go from P to 1 and back to P, but leave it in every gear for about 2 sec. Then check the level while teh car is still running and park.

And for a trans pan drop and filter change you will need a new filter and buy 8 quarts of fluid. It gunna take anywhere from 7-8 bottles.
