Ohhhh so you didn't do anything to it then? I thought from your post that you had. Crap, that sucks even more. I was hoping you pulled a move that a friend had and left the filter out.

The pan should hold the filter in place once it's on. So that rules out the possibility that it fell etc. Hmmmm it's almost like you blew out a gasket or something.
