i replaced my trans filter and installed a zzp shift kit today and after i was done i opend my old filter and this is what i found in it.
it looks to me like its clutch material or something important. they are little small black pieces about the thickness of 6 sheets of paper

i tried to upload a picture but it says upload failed. picture is only 165kb jpeg file 640x480 any help?

here is a web site with the picture

im hoping it will last me atleast 6 more months. my service wrighter at work, her husband is a gm master tech and said he would help me rebuild it.

i just need to know what parts i should rebuild it with and where to get all of them for a resonable price. i dont want to spend 2 grand or more on a rebuilt trans.

I work at a GM dealership.... typical rebuilts run 700-900 on parts the rest is labor... lot in labor to rebuild a tranny... that being said that is with GM parts from a dealership, would prolly be less if you go aftermarket unless you need something major in the tranny and not just clute/plate packs, bands and the other stuff that wears out
good luck and be gentle on it and MAYBE itll last the 6 mnths

Really depends on what you decide to do.

Master kit with clutches and steels plus seals is around $150-$200
    Hardened 4th hub shaft ~$60
    Fluid $35
    Filter $10
    Reman torque converter ~$150-$600

From there it's what else do you do
    Soleniods ~$150-$200
Valve body upgrades ~$150-$200 in parts + tools that most don't have
    Input shaft ~$450
    Bushing set
    Shift kit
    etc etc.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

i was thinking of upgrading the imput shaft cause i know it will be a weak link once i do the other upgrades at the same time.

my plan is to change the cam while i am rebuilding the trans. install a 3000 rpm stall converter,s2 intercooler, custom pcm tune, headers and stainless 3" exhaust, port the heads more with a ported blower and LIM, and probly a 2.8-3.0 pulley

For a standard rebuild, like i did, basically every new part i could get including master rebuild kit, bushings, bearings, solenoids and a rebuilt torque converter, cost right at $400.

i have noticed a little jerking lately when the trans gets hot and the temp gauge needle is above the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge but below th 210 mark. it double jerks when i press the gas to make it down shift.
