I just finished replacing the passenger side halfshaft. I thought I was done, so I decided to take it for a spin. I backed it out of the garage after it idled for a minute or two, and noticed there was a few ounces of AFT on the ground, but no trail where I backed out. Decided to drive it around the apt. complex and got a few blocks away when I lost power to the wheels. It would just rev. I put it in neutral, then back into D and it make the most God awful grinding noise - VERY loud...
I put it back in N and shut it down. I had some buddies help push it back into the garage... When I put it in P now with the ignition off, it won't stay parked, it just wants to roll... So, no D or P.
I feel like a moron right now, did I explode my diff or something? I should add that it didn't feel like I was getting the halfshaft to seat fully when I installed it, but the c-clip engaged and it felt tight.
Please advise...
