    Hello,
I just bought a nice 2000 GT as a dd two weeks ago. It's alot of car for the money, I must admit. 138k, no rust from Virginia, a long two days to get it and bring it back!

So far, I installed two new yokohama AVID S tires on the front, forged solid front swaybar, new starter, halo projector headlights with HID xenons, bought an extra remote and chipkey all off fleabay and so far, aside from some LED problems on the headlight casings, everything went in good. Mostly this was maintenance work that the car needed.

The biggest problem, of which I think is one of the half shafts.... Is that I am getting a vibration only going up hills and under slight acceleration on level surfaces, at between 45 and 75 mph. Under hard acceleration, it's gone. The vibration gets more intense when I go over a bump and the suspension compresses. The vibration was there before the new tires and after, so it's not the tires.

I get no clicking with the old "hard slow turn in the parking lot test", so at first, I thought it wasn't a half shaft at all.

How can I test more thoroughly, which, if any half shaft to see is going bad?

Sounds like a cv axle to me. I had to replace my driver side one last spring. I had the same problems but I also had vibration when only turning right under acceleration. When I turned left under acceleration I didn't have any type of vibration. I replaced the driver side axle and the vibration went away, nice and smooth driving now.

check the engine and transmission mount. they are hydraulic and collapsed when fail. this would cause vibration! post your final FINDING when fix

Well after driving some on brand new tires, the problem has reduced but is not gone yet.
No downpipe on my swaybar, so that is not it. I just pulled the sway bar and changed it to a forged design.

I can see the motor mount on top, next to the radiator on top. It looks good and does not let the engine move much at all on a REV.

I didn't even think about a transmission mount, never had even changed one in all of my years of tinkering. I will look around for it and see if it's toast!

In the meantime I bought a locking gas cap and a spare blower motor, just in case that noise I am hearing coming from the blower turns out not to be a some leaves grinding against the blower cage.

the mounts on top the radiator are the dog bones. the engine mount is on the passengerside of the motor below the crankshaft pulley. you can see it through the fenderwell behind the tire. you may have to move the plastic shield to get a good visual. the transmission mount is on the driverside just about the same location.

Brand new tie rods just before I bought it, they are nice and tight.
Hopefully I will get to looking at those engine and tranny mounts today.

I tested the car through corners and under acceleration, between 30-50mph, and it vibrates in left AND right corners. Maybe I should be more biased towards the mounts rather than the CV's at this point?

well as long as all your control arms n sway bars are good[bushings included]..
i'd say mounts. even at 140k you'll probably want to replace them.
