Just replaced the radiator, and am getting leaks in the oil cooling lines at the radiator. I have pulled the lines, and checked the o-rings, and then retightened them. They are still leaking. I used the new fittings that came with the radiator. What's the trick here?

Also..........I think I may have stripped the threads where the top hose fitting goes into the radiator. Can you replace the threaded piece in the radiator without buying a whole new radiator? It comes out, but I cannot find just that piece online. If the answer on this is "no", I guess I'll just install an auxillary cooler, and leave the radiator alone.

Didi the radiator you get have push in type quick connect fittings in them? If they did and you removed the fittings yourself then when you try to use your threaded cooler lines it will not seal properly due to the inner cone of the fittings being different than the cooler lines. I had to convert mine to the newer style quick connect lines to get it to work.

The factory lines had a fitting similar to the one in the link below. The new radiator came with almost identical fittings. I only swapped them because the thread diameter on the factory fittings did not match up with the thread diameter of the connection holes in the new radiator.

Where do I find these new fittings like you're talking about?

The only place i have been able to find them is at salvage yards. If possible take your radiator back to the where your bought it from and tell them you need a radiator with the other style fittings.

I bought it off a dealer on eBay. What do these other style fittings look like?

I'm seriously thinking about spending $50 and bypassing the oil cooler in the radiator altogether. How large of a cooler would I need to do this??
