The only thing that is coming to mind for me is the differential housing axle seal. Perhaps that has went bad or was damaged. Ive hear Dave before say that you could possibly knock out the round spring tensioner of the axle seal and that would cause it to not seal around the axle properly.

any ideas on how to replace that or to see if it's broken?
