Installed transgo shiftkit the other week per advice on here, which has been much appreciated! Little background... Was having trouble with 2-3 wanting to shift hard once it warmed up. And i just bought the car not too long ago with 160000 on it so i don't know maintenance history other than the transmission oil was pure black and smelled totally burnt. So now i install this shift kit and put new oil/ filter in and it all seemed pretty straight foward. Have put on 150 miles since and the 1-2 shift is hard now unless i accelerate SUPER slow. Could i have put something together wrong? It's kinda irritating as i wasnt having trouble with the 1-2 shift before. And advice will be much appreciated!

The transmission learns how to set shift pressures etc. based on operating conditions. Unplugging the battery for 15 minutes should allow it to re-set and relearn.
I'm not certain that this is your issue; but given the shift kit and new fluid it's probably operating differently now.

Someone else with more experience on the issue may be able to chime in.

Do you have a MIL light on? (Check engine) If so more than likely the trans is sensing a slip and setting high line pressure. Also may have aggravated clutches with new fluid. With the fluid being black and burnt you have problems a shift kit won't address.

Not sure if this will be helpful, but here's a pic of my open accumulator. I do remember having to refer to it because the springs on the pistons (center) are different. One of them's marked 1-2, iirc.

That being said, fluid being black and burnt suggests it's had a difficult life. It is possible flushing the particles from wear had a bad effect. Did you use the Lucas?

I did have battery unplugged the whole time while doing the work so that should have reset it.

And i do have some sort of light on but i THINK its for the my tire pressure indicators that never work?

And yes 1-2 was aok, this why its agravating me so bad, it did seem to cure the 2-3 problem tho

I didn't do a complete flush, just what was in the pan... And no i didn't use tge lucas oil, probably should've.

Only thing i can think of is the middle transgo spring for the 1-2 had no way of holding itself center so it could be off abit even tho i tried my best to center everything up. Not sure if thtd cause a problem anyway?

I'm not an experienced mechanic by anymeans lol but i sure appreciate you guys help!
