Question about 4t65e-hd

Hey guys I'm new to these cars and recently acquired a clean 1998 gtp...my car has 165xxx miles on it, runs great but ttoday I noticed it slipping more like jumping when you accelerate hard on take off....and jumps and jerks every now and then when accelerating from about 30....anyways i figured it was the transmission and I figured I could make it last a while before swapping the transmission...my question is what cars along with what year of cars will swap with my car transmission wise so I can look for one in the mean time before it goes out....I'm sure it's been asked a hundred Times before but I'm new to these cars and love mine and just wanted any info I can get....Thanks I appreciate any help...ps it is the 4t65e-hd right?

Old LSS Supercharged even had them I think.

Between years like 99-00 I believe they switch cooler line fittings, but that takes 5 minutes to swap over depending on what year transmission you bought. Anything newer than 2003 got a different valve body and wiring changes that make them not a direct plug and play unit. They could work but take more steps.

Okay man thank you very much...i guess I'll start saving some money and start hunting one down lol....hopefully it will last me awhile before it goes completely

If you locate a GTP with a 4T65E-HD trans in a salvage yard that is still in the car (not on a shelf somewhere), see if you can remove the transmission fluid pan. What you are looking for is obvious: burnt fluid and/or metal shavings floating through the fluid and/or metal chunks in the pan. If you see any of that, may be best to look for another one. Also, remove the shift 1-2 and 2-3 accumulator assembly and check for a shift kit installation. It may be more likely than not that a 4T65E-HD with a shift kit (and fairly new fluid, no metal shavings, etc) may be a better choice. Point is to try to get one that you can confirm has not been run too hard.
If you go to a salvage yard and you find that they already have a 4T65E-HD removed and sitting somewhere, it still may be wise to check the condition of the fluid.
