Has anyone installed tint from a company that sells the precut stuff? I found precutautotint.com when I was looking into it. For all the windows its like 65.00+ depending on which tint. And they have different options for the rear window.

I've only done tint once using the roll and cutting. Got it done but it was an exercise in frustration. So what are your opinions on the precut stuff?

Nothing wrong with it, you will have to preshrink the rear window. I may go this route one day, beats $245

i have, worked fine, you do need a heat gun to shrink fit the tint.

I bought some for my truck, but never installed it. My buddy got some for his Escape and had no issues.

For the amount of work and frustration on our cars, I'd pay a pro to do it.

I would pay and get the job I want... No need to save $ and have it look like crap! I was amazed first time I watched guy do it 'RIGHT'... Lol. Can I do it? Sure. Can I do it as good, no way, nor as fast. Tint shop is way to go!

I dunno, I like learning to do things myself. And I personally have very little trust letting other people fix my stuff. In my line of work I do a lot of repairs that other people have screwed up. I've been burnt too many times so I'd rather learn to do something myself before I handed someone else my keys. Crap, I used to take my cars to quick lube places when I was either too busy to do an oil change, or the weather was nasty. I've had to use a bolt extractor once to get drain plug out, and another time all the threads came out with the bolt. I mean, seriously? Your only job is to remove/ install 1 bolt and one filter. That might be why I'm on my 3rd machine shop with my heads. If I had the tools I would do my own valve job and fix the crack.

Sorry, rant. Anyways, I like my car but paying 250 bucks to do something that I can do for 55 on a car with a NADA value of a riding lawn mower...not gonna happen. So, I'll let you know how it turned out. Thanks for the replies!

i say go for it. i did it, you can too. watch a load of you tube vids. prep is key, the windows must be super clean. take the inside door panel off, and the rubber block at the top, this way you can car the tint down past that damn rubber part. or remove the glass.

you will need a heat gun. its not 100% needed for the doors, but is needed for the back window, or a brow on the front.

my back doors both got f ed up, so at some point im ordering new door window tint. im taking the glass out this time. as framed glass really is the hard part of tinting these cars.

I paid a pro to do it and am extremely happy I did. Full warranty in case it ever bubbles or if you get weird crappy tint that will turn purple. It is a pain in the ass to do and well worth every cent to have a pro do it in my opinion
