Hey, quick question. Im sure this applies mostly to people that have an 2002 GT, when you open your hood and look down between the engine and the back side of the radiator/ fans, can you see to the ground? I feel as if my car is missing a section of plastic behind the front bumper. I do not have a front valance... if thats what its called. I am talking about that annoying downward wing thing underneath the front of most cars that seems to scrape every driveway you pull into. I know it helps with downforce at higher speeds and such. There is screw holes in that area but not sure if thats where they are from.

    Thanks!

There should have been a plastic piece between the top of the bumper and rad support. If you can see the ground or the air dam/driverway/curb smasher, that piece is missing.

    Yes.

Directly under the radiator is where the air deflector bolts up. It does not extend out past the front or rear of the lower radiator support. This is the piece that hits parking stops and is spring loaded to prevent breakage.

These cars never used a shield underneath the engine as far as I know. European brands are most likely to be found with that type of setup. On our W-bodies, you can see the ground all around the engine / trans from up top.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

I have been underneath it and there is a big plastic piece that sides in the back of the front bumper. It covers the back of the middle of the bumper, but the bottom " upside down T" is open.

Which i believe in the schematic here : http://gmpartsdepartment.com/parts/2...&siteid=214533

    Is #6?

I just found this. Took alot of searching. I think im missing #7 which is the 'lower deflector' supposedly. Would not having that make any sort of difference? I think i remember being in the junkyard and the whole bottom of the front bumper being covered underneath. Thats why im asking. My car is a rebuild so who knows what the guy did
