So i was driving home and called my body shop to ask a few questions on what it would cost to fill the trunk hole and paint my mirrors gloss black the same color as my gpo's and sd lip and long story short its going in at 10 am tomorrow to get started Just wondering if gloss black is going to look best for side mirrors or semi gloss black or even a two tone like silver and black just like newer cars have.

Here is what it looks like now.

My personal opiinions generally differ from whats popular. That being said, what I would like to see is the outer rim of the GPOs painted silver. Since they already have to mix silver for the lock shave. The mirrors, black or silver both would look OK to me but if the silver is in good condition I'd leave it. If they are all chipped up, yeah paint those and try black it might look better. A little photo editing would let you visually check out black mirrors. Chips later won't show as bad on silver but touch ups hide better on black. You pick. Also in the personal opinion department, I don't think a "GRAND PRIX" decal like on a 40th would look too bad on that rear spoiler. FWIW... theres my two cents
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

Well first off, it's your car so it's your choice but black mirrors will give it an odd look. They will look like cheap Dorman replacement mirrors

I like it just the way it is.. Stick with CM mirrors, GPOs look fine as is just shave the keyhole and call it a day. Oh and get some silver inlays for the rear or have that painted.

Thanks for all the opinions so far. It's going to cost 150 to do the mirrors so 75 each. I wanted to do it because i feel the gpo just makes the hood out of place and everything else. I feel having black mirrors would complete the look. I need to see some photoshopping or photochopping done to help me decide. As far as the trunk goes i think i really want to do that. As far as the gpo screens go, i can just repaint those flat black again with a q tip whenever i feel.

Here is how my car looked before i removed the red and the led tails. I think the stock tails look better what do you all think?

Again this is how it USED to be which i can always change back to but in the daylight the led lights just looked too candy red and ricer to me.

Led tails all the way gives it a updated look, what I think made it look bad was the red inlays, red sc sticker etc, if anything paint the inserts in the hood black and call it a day.

I would leave the mirrors silver. One idea is whether or not you can find a vinyl shop that can cut you some vinyl to fit in between those scoops of the SLP hood. I have a photo of that somewhere. If I find it I will post it up for you. The reason I say vinyl is because you can always remove it if you don't like it. Unlike painting them on.

Also I agree that the rear letters painted body color is the way to go. I had mine color matched (silvermist) a few years ago.

Black mirrors would ruin the cohesiveness of the car. Filling in the keyhole would really clean up the back end, and what Red said, the LED tails look good. If anything, do the trim around the hood inserts to match the grill and call it a day. A lot of times less is more. Don't over-do it. You have a very sweet ride as it is.

Black flames up the hood would really make the GPOs fit in nicely.

Eric, do the middle of the mirror, in between where the 2 posts are, out to the edge of the mirror, black with red or no red pinstripes

Okay so i just dropped the car off. I decided to leave mirrors silver. They noticed i had a set of the LED tails in my trunk and asked if i wanted them painted gloss black and i was like yeah i didn't know you guys knew how to do that because i tried nightshade on stock ones and hated it. I decided to get the LED ones painted gloss black BUT leave the reverse light stock so it pops more when i get a silver pontiac inlay. It MIGHT look bad it MIGHT look badass. Either way if i get the car back and think it needs to be completely painted they said they can get it all black for less than 20 dollars. I think its a good idea to at least try and share with others on here. Also would it be a good time to paint my stock tails completly black? I have seen it done and think it looks good when its professionaly done. If i ever want to go back to the red led tails i can always just buy a set on a ebay.

Anyways, that is what i decided to do today and any input or photoshopping would be awesome if someone can help out. thanks.

but tint or paint? i guess i should ask if its translucent paint. And leave the stock ones stock or paint black too? Also, paint the led ones all black or leave back up light area stock or at least a light coat there.
