Right now I have the original steering wheel in the car. Its color is faded and the leather is grungy.

I was lucky to find a 40th edition wheel from ebay that was in great condition. Now I just have to order an airbag removal tool.

no need to order a thing. use a small screw driver, flat head, the largest that will fit in the 4 holes in the back of the wheel, push it in, then turn it while pulling the air bag up at the same corner, keep pulling up till you pop the next one on the same side. if you let off it will click and lock again.

repeat for the other side. its easy, i can have my bag off in less then 5 minutes.

oh, and a small 2 jaw puller works great to pop the wheel free, take the nut off, put the puller on, then make it tight, ( like to where it almost feels like its gonna break the wheel if it has not popped off on its own) then tap the drive bolt with a hammer, that should pop the wheel off.

search youtube theres a few vids, one guy shows the inner workings, then the screw driver makes perfect sense.

and un hook your battery first, you will have to un plug the airbag. and then plug it back in. after the clips pop off lift it slowly and peek behind so you dont pull any thing, the radio wires should be clipped to the wheel but who knows, then theres the wire that leads straight into the wheel, push it in then turn it, then pull it up. its the horn wire.
