I recently just got an spo spoiler for my 04 gt2 for 25$ at a junk yard.... Yes 25$ in perfect condition. And I got it on my car and it looks ba. But on my stock spoiler there was foam gaskets. The spo didn't. What can I use to keep the water out. I'm sorry for no pictures. I have no idea how to post pictures haha I read that thread how to post them and I'm so lost. And I've been in here for about 9 months lol. So what can I use to keep the water out?

Well there's a gasket that you need maybe try a dealer and see if they sell it separately if not go buy some gasket maker from Oreileys and make your own.

Alrighty sounds good. If you don't get the gasket will it leak like crazy through the trunk?

Pretty much...your going to need something to seal around the bolts preventing water from sipping in. I don't think rtv will cut it.

Thanks for this post. After a heavy rain the other day my spare was floating. Rubber around the trunk rim was good. After reading this I went out and looked at my spoiler and the rubber washers around the bolts are all dry rotted or missing. Solved that mystery.

Eh I used garage door stick on rubber foam gasket from Canadian tire. Clean install and never noticed a leak.

I haven't tried to install my GXP spoiler yet, because I have yet to paint it to match.

When I do install it I will probably get some EPDM rubber and make a gasket to seal it up.

BTW I got mine for $20.

Mine leaked so bad the spare (doughnut ) was actually floating. I took the nuts off the spoiler from inside of course, they have a built on washer. I took out what was left of the original rubber washer and used red gasket sealer. Fixed it dry as a bone.
