i didnt know where to put this since theres no exhaust category so i went with visual since you can see the tips. so ive recently decided i want to get new tips since the stock ones are hideous pig snouts and i thought, well if im going to pay someone to weld the tips on, i might as well get new mufflers and get them to weld those on while their at it. also, i dont want to spend $700 on a full system. so my question for yall is whether i should go with the borla pro xs mufflers or the zzp 3 chamber straight flow mufflers. ive heard great reviews for both, they are the same price, the only difference is the zzp ones come with tips on them where as i have to weld some onto the borlas. so i really have no idea which ones i should get. has anyone heard either in person? they will be going on a 04 comp g by the way

Youtube is your bestfriend on this one. ZZPoop's are loud. Not so sure about the Borlas. Anyway, look around and make the decision yourself. It's not our decision as to what you choose, do what you want. Not what anyone on here tells you to do.

As many on here will say, these cars sound like crap no matter what lol. I found videos right away on the jewtube by the way. In all honesty, I'd go with zzp's. You can save some dough on the tips too which would be the selling point for me because I'm a cheapo lol.

I have some borlas pro xs's n I like them..imo thats what ive seen most recommended. Its a deep tone rumble to it..just keep your resonator if its not rusted out or get a big ol cherry bomb. I havent heard zzp's tho, but I do like my borlas.

I just ordered zzp stainless headers and 3" stainless exhaust system. I should get it on Monday and get it installed sometime in the next few days. If i remember I will take a sound vid "try to" since my car will have a cat as well.

if it is too loud i can always buy a resonator. Exhaust is always kind of a mystery

My install is tomorrow and zzp forgot to ship the stepped band clamp for my headers. So I ran to about 3 auto part shops and finally found a band clamp. Also I did not know that I will need a rear O2 sensor extension for the new downpipe. So I pray my car wont run too bad without it for a few days.

The downstream has nothing to do with drivability, it is for emissions only.

The ZZP is going to be raspy, Borla is a very nice sounding system for 3800s.

Its not as high pitched, but its kinda the same sound. Start your car open downpipe and give it any amount of thorttle, before you begin the install, just to get an idea of what you'll be hearing. That way its not too late to return what you got.

Probably should have got a resonator then.... well I will give it a shot. Just glad I live cheap and have a good job to keep buying car parts.
