Got pulled over in Menomonee Falls, WI for having blue LED's. I was actually surprised how blue they where while not being HID, but still, freakin bu11 shiz.

Anything blue is going to be a problem that's just a given rather if there hids or not it's going to be up to that cop if he feels like pulling you over for it or not. Word of advice leave the popo colors for the popo and stick with those colors on the interior.
And don't think its bull**** when you know good and well what you were doing, their doing their job.

Well Beamers and Audis aren't running 6k+ from the factory it'll be 4300-5k which is white and not illegal at all.
You can argue we that all day and everyday but it's still not going to avoid u getting hassled from it.

I guess. I just purchased 8000k headlight bulbs on flea bay so I hope I don't get hassled for those. I think those show up more of a hyper white even though there described as blue

.. and yes 8K will have a hint of blue so you should be fine.. i ran them for years with no problems... but on a side note.. forget the HIDs in halogen lights.. do it right and go projector retro, you wont regret it!!!

I think I ran an 8k halogen in my old focus and I was good, but it might have been 6500k

Different manufactures give different hints of blue etc so don't go thinking because what worked in a previous car will be the same.
Not to mention 8k is pretty blue no wonder you got pulled over for it. Bet if you stuck with white you wouldn't have had a issue.

oh well thats why then... LED bulbs dont really match the Kelvin scale like HIDs do, so those are not that accurate of numbers... 8K in LEDs are just blue.

I don't know how much it's really "damn 5-0" as much as it's "damn ricers." 8k on the Kelvin is BLUE. hid-color-temperatures.jpg
6k or less is where you get LIGHT. 3k for Fogs, 5-6k for headlights.

I ran 8ks for years in my lancer and my GP. I never got hassled for it. Im pretty sure the rule in my area is if the cop holds up a white paper to the light form x feet away, does it show up blue or white. 8ks still usually show white on paper, HOWEVER; I hated my 8ks couldnt see ****. I got 6ks now. Love em.

Yep I doubt anybody will get pulled over for running 8k's. They are not that blue but only have a light bluish tint. I do like 6k's better personally.
