I just bought a 99 grand prix gt a few weeks ago that had HID headlights. well I didnt care for them much beings they were single beams so i just switched them back a few days ago. The car was wrecked before and was supposedly straightened out on a frame machine but the drivers side core support wasnt done to well for me to say anything was professionally done because I did a better job with my slam hammer and a crow bar. well its been a real pain in the ass getting the headlights adjusted because of this. I finally got everything straight but it seems no matter what i do the low beams seem to be higher than the high beams. about 6 inches higher. the fog lights come on with the low beams and go out with the high so that parts right, but what could cause this? wires switched on the headlight plug? im outta ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Turn the fog lights off, they shine pretty high.

    Just throwing something out there..

Have you tried flipping the bulb around and/or playing with the positioning of the bulb itself at all?

Lows are coming on as the outer lights, right? Outer lows, inner are high.

I tried moving the bulb around some and it didnt make much difference. I Should add that the little tabs on the headlight assembley are broken off so I really dont know if the bulb is in right. Its a single bulb with two elements, should the elements be one on top of the other or side by side? I feel like a idiot playing with these things and having so much problems. I do all the work on my cars whether its motor problems, tranny, body and I havnt not been able two figure it out and fix it. No something as simple as headlights have me wanting to blow both headlights out with my .44
