Got a new mod done today. Had this done professionally at a body shop that I do a lot of work at. This is automotive clear coat with just the right amount of automotive gloss black mixed into it. Lenses were then wet sanded, sprayed and then baked in the paint booth. I had been looking around here for someone that knew how to do it correctly for a long time (pretty much since I had seen Gib's on his GTO). You gotta know the correct ratio to mix the clear and black before you just go off spraying lights. I was at this particular body shop yesterday and saw a tinted set on one of the guy that works theres 350Z. When I asked who did it, he told me the painter there knew how to do it. I've known the painter there for several years, just never thought to ask him. After a short conversation with the painter, he told me to bring them in. I dropped them off at 8 this morning and picked them up at Noon! Then had to wait all day to get home and put them on. They look great and as far as I can tell they are flawless, smooth and shiny as glass. Nice thing is, I can wax and detail them just like the rest of the paint and they will stay shiny.

They look jet black, but with the right ratio mix, the lights shine right through with no problems.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. My driver's side tail had two pretty decent size bubbles at the top edge. There is not even a trace of where they used to be. You can't see them at all. I'm VERY happy.
