Take the wheel off would have been the hard way to do it. I just sprayed it on the car. I put some paper towel behind it and didnt cover the tire or anything.

Spray tire shine on the tires and make sure the wheel itself is really clean (make sure no tire shine is on the wheels).

Spray the plasti-dip thin coat, by thin coat all over the wheel and since you have tire shine on the tires you don't have to worry

When your done (make sure its dry) just take a razor blade and trim around the wheel and then peel the remainder off the tires (should come right off)

this got off topic hardcore. but for the black and whatnot, so you would say that the black dip is just as black as the black of the tires?

Yes as long as they are clean, because just like a black car, a black wheel will show everything (brake dust, dirt)
