I recommend aluminum rubbing compound and Mothers aluminum polish to keep them looking awesome. I have to clean mine every week but it is so worth it

If I were you, I'd do it right and make it easier on yourself down the road. Hit them with 1000, but also get some 1200, 1500, and a couple 2000 sheets and wet sand them nicely inside and out. You will get them to a smooth mirror finish and instead of having to resand them every once in a while, you just use some aluminum polish and wipe them down with a rag when you wash the car.

When I wash my car and do a touch up sand on the tips, do I use the 150 grit again or the 1,000 grit? Next week I might order some aluminum polish off eBay, want that mirror shine!
