yeah, it all depends on how much time and money you are going to spend as well as how badly your paint is damaged. For a quick, cheap and a shine that doesn't last too long, I'd get the three step program from Meguires topped with Gold Class. With some microfibre buffing towels and applicators and about a half days worth of work and you have a pretty decent shine for about a month. To speed it up, you could get an RANDOM ORBITAL polisher.
If you wanted to take it a step further, you could Zaino it. Zaino Store
To do whats best for you paint, read Autopia - Autopia Home very carefully. You could even take a quick read before taking option number 1 just for some pointers.

i use formula 113 wax... this stuff is quite amazing, its expensive but WELL WORTH IT!
it's produced locally where i live in new york, and they microbrew this stuf.f.. best wax i have ever used, they also have a really good quick detailer called Bead X.

If you have never used a polisher before B very carefull if you try, my thoughts would be to use a random orbital. it gets the job done well and I havent seen anyone burn thier paint with one of those.

alright thanks for some input, my paint is pretty bad,you can see circler scrach's on the whole car, and i would like something that keeps a shine i was thinking about getting it buffed professionally but i really don't have the extra cash for that right now

having a pro do it is a good way to start. then maintaince should be easy.

Honestly I used the spray on wax. You spray the car down with water (after you wash it of course) and then spray the wax on with the water, and dry it off with a towel. The product to my surprise worked amazingly well.
It also got some of the looser tar and stuff off, but not all of it. I recommend giving the spray on a shot.
