Thread: de-badging opinion

well I debadged my gp and besides ghosting I noticed an issue on the passenger side. I had this side repainted due to a small fender bender and now there is a layer of paint outlining where the badge once was -.- Should I just rebadge, plastidip badges or leave it as is (looks like someone jacked my badges lol)?

I also have what looks like horrible clear coat overspray, or something else but it's annoying me. Any ideas on how to get rid of this...?

Put them back on.

I'd say Meguiars Ultimate Compound, but it's not going to do anything for the passenger side. Lazy ass painters.

What about wet sanding? Starting with a 800+ grit working to 3000 grit? (I say start with 800 to cut it down a little quicker, might want to go with 1000 to start with and work more)

I decided to plastidip and rebadge. Didn't badge the trunk and it's rusting out anyways. Used the G and P from the trunk badges for this:

When I took my dealership stickers off, I used a clay bar on it repeating a few times to get the adhesive off, and then I used Meguiars Ultimate Compound to lessen the marks and mess there... you could see it really faint if you looked really really hard and close, but it's been a few months now and I cant find where it was even if I try.

I used goo gone then wet sanded with 1000 grit (lightly) followed by buff with Meguiars Ult. Comp.

All I did was use polish and it came clean off. Took me all of 10 minutes to debadge and clean my car.
