so wensday it was raining horribly here , ran out to get a pack of smokes out of my car only to find 2" of standing water in my driver side floor. looked like it was dripping right of the parking brake pedal. looked it over real good the next day and it looks like the roof and a-piller rotted out under the rubber windshield seal . i have 185k on the car but is this common on these cars ?

the most common leak spot is the cowling where the windshield wipers sit. it begins to not seal well and during a hard rain it just runs down through it into the cabin air filter hole. but this is on the passenger side.

good luck figuring out how to fix it.

i wish it was my passanger side and a easy fix , but unfortunatly its the drivers side. it looks like its running right down the a-pillar and dripping into the dash and then onto the parking brakes pedal. i love my gp .
ill probably lift the seal around the windshield and squirt some silicone in there to hold me over while i find a lower milage gtp.

If it is the windsheild, you can take it to a glass shop and have them reseal it. If there is any holes under the trim they will fill them with urothane and that should fix it up as long as it's not too bad. Probably only cost you around $50 to do so.

Take it to a mechanic shop they should be able to locate it within' half an hour, a friend of mine had a similar problem and there was rust from the engine area which had a hole on top of the driving pedals but in a place that wasn't very visible.

i found out where its leaking , right on the left upper corner of the windshield the paint is bubbled and i lifted the rubber seal right there and rust. checked a little farther over under the seal and
more rust. i think maybe with 185 k on it it might be ready to go to the bone yard. ill probably squirt some silicon around it till i find another gp , i was really liking the silver 02 gtx on e-bay but alittle to far away. gonna probably look for a 02-03 low milage unmodded car.
